Bio :: Tricia Huntley

TRICIA HUNTLEY founded Huntley & Co. in 2006 following a decade designing hotels and residences for Washington, DC firms.  Prior to that, she received a master’s degree with honors in interior design from George Washington University and an undergraduate degree in photography and art history. It could be said, however, that her initial design pursuits began with her childhood in Minneapolis alongside three rambunctious brothers.

Growing up in a household full of boys meant my room and my belongings were fair game for their shenanigans. ‘Personal environment’ became important to me at an early age and sparked an interest in interior design. While in grammar school, I studied issues of Architectural Digest, drew floorplans, and participated in two overhauls of my bedroom. It was no surprise that I was voted MOST LIKELY TO BECOME A DESIGNER in eighth grade.

Tricia’s classical training, Midwestern roots, and fashion-forward sensibility contribute to an eclectic aesthetic that attract clients and insiders alike. That paired with a thoughtful and engaging approach have garnered her projects throughout the U.S. and Europe, features online and in print, and numerous awards including DC Magazine’s Best of the City and Luxe magazine’s Gold List.

In addition to her interiors projects, Ms. Huntley is currently developing additional designs for Ironware International, and working on her own custom line of furnishings. Tricia’s ongoing inspirations, ideas, and behind-the-scenes experiences can be found on Instagram and her blog, Luxe & Lucid. When not engaging in all things Huntley & Co., she can be found perusing modern art for her collection, laughing at a Tom Segura comedy bit, or inconveniencing complete strangers to pet their dogs … because just like design, life is better when it’s eclectic.
